The Sun Stones are evolution items you can use to evolve Petitil and Sunkern in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. And unlike the Fire, Water, Thunder, and other such stones, you don’t have multiple options to obtain the Sun Stone, like buying it from the shop. This makes getting Sun Stones in the game somewhat daunting, as they are well-hidden and easy to miss. In the wake of that, many players want to learn where to get Sun Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Where to Get Sun Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
You can obtain Sun Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by defeating certain enemies, like Sunflora, or by exploring the overworld, as the Sun Stone is found at some specific hard-to-find locations.
In the overworld, you can find Sun Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in these locations:
- West Province (Area One), near a cliff behind the big mountain. [Use the above and below map screenshot for the exact location]
- Asado Desert region
We recommend you get the first Sun Stone from the West Province location, and then during the Artazon Gym Test that tasks you to bring 10 Sunflora, find and battle the Suflora as they will drop one or more Sun Stone. And finally, you can venture out into the Asado Desert region and explore the surroundings to obtain more Sun Stones.
That said, keep an eye out while exploring Paldea to obtain Sun Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are currently available on the Nintendo Switch platform.
