Who Are Pokémon’s Gen 9 Starters

It has been some time since the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, and fans all over the world have been wondering for some time when they would be able to know more about Pokémon’s Gen 9 and the next entries in the series. Thankfully, the wait won’t be that much longer, as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will release later this year worldwide on Nintendo Switch.

The two games not only seem to be way more open, in the vein of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but they will also feature some brand new Pokémon that will be part of Gen 9. Here’s everything we know about the three starters, the first three Gen 9 Pokémon revealed so far.

Who Are Pokémon’s Gen 9 Starters?

The Pokémon’s Gen 9 starters that will appear in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.

Sprigatito is the first Pokémon starting from the left in the image above. A Grass Cat Pokémon, this creature is said to be both capricious and attention-seeking. Fuecoco, the second from the left, is a Fre Croc Pokémon with a laid back attitude that loves doing things at its own pace. Quaxly, the third Pokémon from the left, is a Duckling Pokémon said to be earnest and tidy. Its resemblance to Donald Duck is also making it quite popular, and fuel for memes as well.

Sadly, this is all we know about the Pokémon’s Gen 9 starters as of now. As the new games have only been announced, however, we can be sure that more on the new starters, as well as on the other Gen 9 Pokémon, will be revealed very soon.
