The game is centered around turn-based combat where the player, who takes on the role of a “Master”, summons and commands powerful familiars known as “Servants” to battle enemies. The story narrative is presented in a visual novel format, and each Servant has its own scenario that the player can explore. Servants are obtained through the gacha mechanic.

Today we will be talking about one of the Servants in the game, Asclepius.

Background

Asclepius is a Greek hero who trained under Chiron, from whom he learned the art of medicine. He would later be known as the god of medicine and was also among the Argonauts Jason led.

As the son of Apollo, Asclepius’s proficiency in medicine was so great that he gained the power to resurrect the dead. However, the gods saw his power as a threat, so Zeus struck Asclepius down with one of his thunderbolts.

Battle Abilities

Asclepius is quite a powerful Servant in his own right, despite being 3-star. With certain other supports in certain setups, he is capable of facilitating Noble Phantasm loops. Child of Apollo A provides the entire party with a full three turns of Noble Phantasm regeneration rate, and Serpent Charmer B gives a 20% party charge at will, allowing for him to help those short on Noble Phantasm regeneration to top off their gauge and fire again.

He also is a rather strong supporting unit with a party-wide debuff removal on Serpent Charmer along with a major 5,000 hit point heal on God of Medicine EX, and a Noble Phantasm which provides both healing, guts, and debuff immunity, making for amazing utility.

With these strengths also come some glaring weaknesses. Players who use Asclepius should not expect much in terms of offensive nor defensive power. Despite his strengths, he is still a 3-star Servant and does not have any hard survival skills, except for his Noble Phantasm, which, unfortunately, does not apply Guts for himself.
