With tons and tons of Pokémon to choose from in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, how do you know which ones are the best? There are lots of strong Pokémon to pick, but for now, we’ll be looking at the strongest Pokémon in the entire universe. Today, we’ll be answering the question: who is the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?
Who is the Strongest Pokémon?
If you are at all familiar with the lore and history of the Pokémon universe, you can easily guess who the strongest Pokémon is, both story and gameplay-wise. The strongest Pokémon in the game is none other than the supposed creator of the universe itself, Arceus!
Clocking in at a whopping 720 base stats, with 120 in each stat, Arceus is nothing short of an absolute powerhouse. By default, Arceus is a Normal-type, so its only weakness is Fighting moves. Alternatively, Arceus can hold different Plate items, and there is a Plate for every Pokémon type. Arceus’ type would change to match the Plate it held, which made it very versatile.
Arceus’ move set is nothing to scoff at, either—it learns some very powerful Psychic and Normal moves, including Future Sight, Hyper Beam, and Extreme Speed. Arceus’ signature move is Judgment, a 100 power, 100% accuracy move that deals special damage, and its typing will change with the currently equipped plate.

In the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, the “Azure Flute” item was supposed to be distributed through the Mystery Gift function, which would give players the opportunity to catch Arceus. The Azure Flute was never released unfortunately, so this event was inaccessible through legitimate means. Thankfully, Arceus itself was given out at limited time events around the world.
That brings us to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Just like the original games, it seems as though Arceus is locked behind a special event. There’s no way to catch it legitimately yet in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Hopefully this time around, Game Freak doesn’t forget to release the Azure Flute to players.
In fact, we’ve got a good feeling that there’s going to be a tie-in event with the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus. A special event to celebrate Legends’ release might give Trainers the opportunity to catch Arceus in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Keep an eye out for Pokémon updates, as you don’t want to miss out on catching this legendary beast!
