If you loved the Detective Pikachu game when it came out in 2018, you will be excited to learn that the sequel has been confirmed in the latest Nintendo Direct event. The new game will be titled Detective Pikachu Returns, and it is set to come out on October 6, 2023.
The fans of Pikachu and Pokémon in general are also well aware of the movie adaptation from 2019—Pokémon Detective Pikachu—with Ryan Reynolds borrowing his voice to the titular hero with a knack for solving mysteries. In this article, we explore everything we know about who voices Pikachu in Detective Pikachu 2 game.

Who Voices Pikachu in Detective Pikachu 2 Game?
In the first game, Pikachu’s voice came from Kaiji Tang, an American actor who lent his talents to some other popular dubbed titles like Persona 5 and Fire Emblem: Awakening and Warriors. So, it’s only natural to wonder whether he will return as Pikachu once again in the sequel set to release later this year.
Fans of the movie version might hope for Ryan Reynolds to reprise his role as the adorable yellow furball—just this time in the game. However, that will likely remain only some wishful thinking with the Detective Pikachu 2 movie in the works.
However, Nintendo decided to go in a different direction altogether and introduced some new talent. Pikachu in Detective Pikachu Returns will be voiced by Will Arnett, famous for his engagements in Bojack Horseman and Lego Batman. We can’t wait to see how his comedic skills translate to this new material!
