As the official release date for Hogwarts Legacy nears, we get confirmation on many burning questions that fans have asked themselves since 2018, when we saw the leaked in-game footage for the first time.
For years now, fans obsessed about gameplay elements they would like to see in a Harry Potter-inspired game of these proportions, whether it’s Quidditch, romance, or swimming in the Black Lake with some merpeople.
When we learned that this long-awaited game was going to be an RPG, another question arose: will Hogwarts Legacy have different endings? Here is all we know so far.
Are There Multiple Endings in Hogwarts Legacy?
We still don’t have any official confirmation coming from the developers at Avalanche about multiple endings in Hogwarts Legacy, but they have given us enough tidbits over the last several months to believe that yes, Hogwarts Legacy will most likely have different endings.
In the last big showcase of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, game director Alan Tew explained that the decisions players make in side quests will have some big consequences on the game as a whole, mentioning even that the players’ choices can affect the way the game ends. However, no specific details were revealed so far.

How Many Endings Will Hogwarts Legacy Have?
Unfortunately, nothing was revealed as to how many endings we can look forward to. From the information we have at the moment, we can deduce that Hogwarts Legacy will feature at least two different endings. Again, while there’s no official confirmation on this topic, we can make that conclusion because we know that players will have a chance to explore the path of dark arts in the game.
The use of the Unforgivable Curses has been confirmed, alongside the Dark Arts Battle Arena, a feature that is included in the Deluxe and Collector’s editions of the game. All of this info combined leads us to believe that players who try their best to remain good and defeat the forces of darkness will get one ending, and those who stray away from the light and lean a bit more heavily into dark magic will experience a different conclusion to the main story.
In any case, we will get all the answers in less than two weeks, since Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on Feb. 10, 2023 and will eventually be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In the meantime, make sure to check our Hogwarts Legacy dedicated section for more updates and reveals about the game.
