Palworld is a new upcoming multiplayer, open-world survival crafting game, currently in production. The game is being developed by Pocketpair and the trailers make the game look incredibly gorgeous.
Apart from looking amazing, Palworld has a darker side to it. The game is described as “Pokémon-with-guns” by most fans. The game’s most recent trailer displays two very different sides of the game. The first half of the trailer shows off their colorful world with happy Pokémon-like creatures, while the final half shows them being mowed down by gunfire!
If this mix of genres sounds intriguing, here’s what else we know about Palworld!
Palworld Game Features
As mentioned before, Palworld is described as an open-world survival crafting game. The world is filled with creatures called “Pal.” These mysterious creatures inhabit the world and are used for various things throughout the game.
The darker side of the game involves poaching of these creatures, either by NPCs or by other players! The player can befriend or capture their own Pals and live a happy life with them. The game also gives players their freedom to make alternate choices that are… not so savory.
The player is given the option to sell their pals, butcher them for meat, give them hard labor, commit crimes like pillaging and robbing, and just cause all-out mayhem! The laws of the world prohibit these actions in general, so the player must exercise caution if they choose to go through the darker path.
Will Palworld have a Switch release?
Palworld is coming to multiple platforms, and it is confirmed to be arriving on Steam for PC players sometime during mid-2022. This has left handheld players wondering if they will get the same treatment.
Pocketpair’s CEO, Takuro Mizobe, confirmed that the game will be released on console platforms as well, but there are no immediate plans for a Nintendo Switch port. He did also mention that Pocketpair is open to a Switch expansion after the game fully releases on PC and consoles!
