Zynga Plans to Bring FarmVille 2: Country Escape to iOS

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Ah, FarmVille! I must admit that I was an addict, just like most of the Facebook population a while ago but I got cured just before the launch of FarmVille 2 on Facebook. However, since social gaming (aka Facebook gaming) is on the decline and the mobile gaming scene is still rising, I was pretty surprised to see that Zynga isn’t going for a full assault on this market.

Well, things are about to change soon as Zynga decided to announce their full assault on the mobile market and they’ll do so with one of their (still) extremely popular games: FarmVille 2. The iOS version of the Facebook hit will be titled FarmVille 2: Country Escape and, according to Zynga, will feature some innovative features, like the option to play the game offline and – hold on to your seats – not having to spam your friends with requests. Wow!

Talking to SFgate.com, Zynga’s CEO Don Mattrick said: “You’ve got to keep innovating; you’ve got to give people things that cause them surprise and delight. But the first thing you’ve got to do is get your content there.”

That is true, Zynga and personally I must admit that I am at least a little bit curious about the first full-fledged FarmVille game. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when FarmVille 2: Country Escape will be coming to iOS, but we expect that since the company started to talk about the product, that’s going to happen soon.
